Welcome to CWEC
We are a member-owned, not-for-profit distribution cooperative located in Rosholt, WI. Established in 1938 by local citizens to bring electricity to rural families, farms and businesses. We provide electricity to approximately 7,900 meters on 1,443 miles of primary and secondary electric lines, which is divided between 853 miles of overhead and 590 miles of underground, in Central Wisconsin. We serve parts of Portage, Waupaca, Marathon, and Shawano counties.
The Co-op is governed by a Board of Directors, who are elected by its members. We are founded on seven principles that still guide us today. Our goal is to provide safe, reliable electric service at the best possible price. In addition to meeting your electric needs, we are pleased to offer a variety of services designed to enhance the quality of life in rural central Wisconsin.
