ENERGY INNOVATIONS

With today’s economy we are all looking for ways to stretch the dollar and save money, CWEC has come up with a new program that will help you do just that and make your home more energy efficient.

We have created the Capital Credits for Conservation program where members can “cash in” their accrued Capital Credits on a discounted basis to help pay for certain conservation upgrades.

Click on the Energy Innovations button to the right to find out more about the program or call 1-800-377-2932 today!  Watch for more great energy saving programs under the Energy Innovations umbrella.

Beginning on September 27th, the American Transmission Company will be shutting our Iola Substation down for approximately two weeks. This is necessary so they can replace defective insulators on the transmission line that feeds the Substation. There have been three insulator failures in the last two years on this transmission line, two of which caused extensive outages. We will be backfeeding the Substation from four other Substations. During this time we ask that our members in the area conserve energy as much as possible. This will help prevent
problems and possibly advert (prevent) an outage. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

We've just updated our Building for the Future and added a Latest News page to keep you updated.

CWEC Logo Contest
There are a lot of exciting things happening at Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC).  The biggest being our new headquarters, which is scheduled to open in February 2011.  We are looking to the future, so we thought now would be the perfect time for a new CWEC logo.  While, we of course, would like to keep some of our past, we certainly want a new fresh look for the future.

CWEC is a member owned cooperative, so we would like to invite all members to take part in this creative contest, by getting out your pencil and helping us design the new logo.  All CWEC families are invited to submit a new logo.

All logo submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of management and board members.  All logo designs should include the CWEC name.  All submission will become the property of CWEC, giving us the right to modify submissions if necessary.  The winner will receive a cash prize of $500.00.  We have extended the deadline for submissions, it is now Monday, December 27th.  The winner and logo will be announced a future issue of Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News.

Include your name, address, and telephone number and mail submissions to

CWEC
PO Box 255
Iola, WI  54945

Or drop your submission off at the CWEC office in Iola Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm.

Thank you,
Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative

OUR ENERGY, OUR FUTURE

A Dialogue With America
How are we going to make sure we have enough electricity to meet our growing demand?

What can be done to speed the development of new technology which will allow me to have the electric power I need while meeting our national climate policy goals

How can we balance affordable electricity with environmental goals?

Tough questions indeed.  We all need to work together to find the right answers.  Contact your elected officials and begin the dialogue now.  For more information visit – www.ourenergy.coop

CONTACTING YOUR LEGISLATOR
